It’s always on the to-do list. Asking feels awkward. And a generic “great to work with!” doesn’t close anyone. Your best proof sits unused while your sales team pitches blind.
Exit surveys get ignored. Your team hears surface-level reasons. The real story — the thing that would actually fix your retention — only comes out in a proper conversation.
“Highly recommend!” doesn’t close B2B deals, nor does it retain customers. The right testimonial names the problem, describes the result, and speaks directly to your buyer’s hesitation. That requires skill to extract.
Customers perform differently when talking to you versus a neutral third party. We get the unfiltered version — the praise AND the criticism — because we’re not the ones they’re trying not to offend.

How do you get churned customers to participate?
We reach out as a neutral third party — which matters enormously. A former customer is far more likely to speak honestly with someone who isn’t you. We sometimes use a small incentive, typically an Amazon gift card funded by you, to thank participants for their time. In our experience, this significantly improves response rates and produces more candid, useful conversations. Most churned customers actually want to be heard — they just need a low-friction way to say what they think.
What kind of video do I get from the Proof Sprint?
Lightly edited Zoom recordings — not raw footage, but not a polished agency production either. We remove the interviewer’s prompts, tighten the pacing, and cut any off-topic tangents, leaving you with clean, usable footage. You can publish these as-is or hand them to your video editor for further production. This is intentional: your buyers are agency owners, SaaS founders, and small business operators — people who connect more with authentic, peer-to-peer content than with expensive corporate video.
How many customers do you actually interview to get 5 (or 8) quality outputs?
More than you might expect. We conduct up to 10, sometimes even 12 interviews for the Proof Sprint and up to 15 for the Exit Sprint. Cancellations, reschedules, and interviews that simply don’t yield usable material are part of the process. We absorb all of that. You get the guaranteed output — we do whatever it takes to deliver it.
Do I need to be involved in the interviews?
No. That’s the point. You provide your customer list, and we handle everything — outreach, scheduling, release forms, interviews, and delivery. Your job is the kickoff call at the start, the intake form and the review at the end.
What happens if a customer wants changes after seeing their case study?
It happens occasionally, and it’s part of the process. We share each case study with the participant for sign-off before anything is published. Minor edits are included. Significant rewrites due to factual inaccuracies are handled on a case-by-case basis.
Can I run both sprints at the same time?
Yes, and it’s actually the most powerful way to do it. The Exit Sprint findings often reveal exactly what messaging the Proof Sprint content should emphasise. Running both together gives you a complete picture — and saves $1,000 on the combined price.
